In Brazil, you cannot talk about the tourism industry without mentioning Guilherme Paulus. He has been one of the most prolific investors in the sector and continues to do so to date. His investments lie in two major companies, i.e. the GJP network and CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A. These two companies are considered among the biggest within their respective service niche. CVC has become so big that it is now ranked as the largest tour operator in Latin America and could soon grow to encompass other countries. This has been in part due to its recent acquisition by a private equity group the Carlyle Group.
The group managed to convenience Guilherme Paulus to sell a 63 percent stake to them at a time when he had just mentioned in a TV interview that he would one day consider taking the company public. This announcement sparked a frenzy of activities with banks and private investors calling to try and get in on the deal. Guilherme Paulus, however clearly understood what he was looking for having founded the CVC in 1972 and grown it to what it was.
The deal would earn him and his company an estimated 420 million dollars. With this capital, Guilherme Paulus opted to focus on expanding the GJP network. At the time he had found a niche in the hotel business. He was willing to stake quite a large amount to see his company take off and when the CVC money came in it marked a turning point for the group. Today GJP runs a chain of more than 19 hotels located all over the country. The group has everything from a five hotel to a diner which helps it cater to the wide range of clientele they receive every year. The group’s operations have grown tremendously and so has Guilherme Paulus influence within the tourism sector. The president recently appointed him to the country’s Tourism Board as a sign of goodwill as well as help the country enact policies that grow the sector. It will be interesting to see what kind of leadership he brings given his credentials as a man of actions.
The Portland Trailblazers of the National Basketball Associated found themselves mired in a terrible slump a few seasons ago and nothing it seemed would go right for them. Impressively, the team did not turn on each other and point fingers but instead searched for answers.
Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins found himself in a similar situation at about the same time and his inconsistent play had caused him to fall from favor with both coaches and teammates. Visit manta.com to know more about Neurocore.
The solution for Cousins and the Trailblazers was to turn to the experts at the Neurocore Brain Training Centers.
Neurocore introduced an innovate aspect to the protocol for athletic training through what is known as biofeedback. This works by taking information that is mined regarding the electrical function of the brain in a particular athlete in order to train the athlete to exert more control over functions that are considered to be involuntary responses such as heart rate and blood pressure while performing.
Neurocore founder Dr. Tim Royer is of the opinion that this, and other types of brain training made available at his Neurocore Brain Training Centers is the next wave for reaching peak athletic performance.
The process developed by Royer teaches athletes to reach what is known as the ‘zone’ in athletic circles basically at will, as well as provides instructions as to how to slow the operations of the brain and other bodily functions to allow for much faster recovery times.
Dr. Royer explains that the brain possesses a trait known as neuroplasticity which means it can be altered. This means the brain can be exercised similar to the way that the body can and worked into better condition. Dr. Royer feels it is important to note that this fact is true for all individual, with or without the presence of past mental health conditions.
Neurocore Brain Training Centers was launched in 2004 and now operates nine centers in the states of Michigan and Florida.
Neurocore has positioned itself as the prime authority in the country regarding the many possibilities that exist to improve the lives and careers of individuals with the use of neuroscience. See more information at Linkedin about Neurocore.
